Shots Sleeves

The shot sleeve is a critical element of the aluminum die casting process. Plunger tips and Shot sleeves go hand in hand operationally. The function of the shot sleeve is to contain the molten aluminum being pushed into the mold by the plunger tip.
We offer best quality heat treated Shot sleeves in controlled tolerance as per drawing. Usually hardened steel like H-13 is used for manufacturing Shot sleeves but a lot of modifications is possible in the design like multijet, multi drilled, shot sleeve with water jacket and multi loops for better cooling and thermal efficiency.

All Shot sleeves are flow tested and pressure tested at 20 Bar.

Aplication:

  • Stabilize temperatures to maintain a round and straight shot sleeve, so that the plunger tip can seal on to the shot sleeve wall, extending tooling life
  • Allow plunger to move through the shot sleeve smoothly and consistently, reducing scrap
  • Provide a long life, minimizing unscheduled downtime
  • Cooling can be controlled automatically
